Delayed Curing – Finish Staying Tacky Too Long
A finish problem where the floor remains tacky, soft, or impression-prone longer than expected.

What it is
Delayed curing happens when a finish remains soft, tacky, or impression-prone longer than the expected dry and cure window.
Signs
- Finish feels tacky after it should be dry
- Fingerprints, footprints, or pet marks show up too easily
- Furniture or rugs leave impressions
- Odor lingers longer than expected
How ReCoat handles it
The team reviews ventilation, humidity, dry time, furniture return timing, pet traffic, rugs, and first-clean instructions after service. Dehumidifiers, fans, and proper coat thickness can help the finish cure correctly.
Why it matters
Dry time is not the same as cure time. A floor may be safe for light socks-only traffic before it is ready for furniture, rugs, pets, or cleaning.
